Mentorship Programs

Our program is designed to support students from middle school to college, helping them navigate their journey to higher education and succeed in their intended careers. The program provides one-on-one mentorship, skill-building workshops, and exposure to career opportunities, creating a supportive environment that empowers students to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Program Descriptions

  1. Mentorship for Middle and High School Students

    • Students are paired with mentors who are college students, professionals, or community leaders with shared cultural or academic experiences.

    • Mentors will provide guidance on academic success, extracurricular involvement, and the college application process.

  2. Monthly Healthcare Exploration Sessions

    • High school and college students interested in healthcare careers will meet monthly with healthcare professionals to learn about different roles in the field, educational pathways, and the realities of working in healthcare.

    • These sessions aim to inspire and provide practical guidance for pursuing careers in medicine, nursing, public health, and other healthcare professions.

  3. A Community of Growth:

    • ​Students and mentors engage in a community where they share experiences, resources, and opportunities.​​

  • Students meet with their mentors on Zoom or in person to discuss academic challenges, career aspirations, and personal development.

    • Sessions are tailored to the mentee's needs, covering topics such as:

      • Time management and study skills.

      • Selecting high school courses and extracurricular activities.

      • SAT/ACT preparation and college applications.

      • Scholarships and financial aid.

      • Transfer student requirements

Monthly Healthcare Career Exploration Program

  • Healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, nurses, researchers) lead interactive sessions to inspire and guide students considering healthcare careers.
    • Topics include:

      • Day in the Life of a Healthcare Professional.

      • Understanding Healthcare Pathways: From College to Medical School.

      • Exploring Non-Clinical Careers in Healthcare.

      • Overcoming Barriers as Immigrant Students in Medicine.

      • Prioritizing Mental Health in High-Pressure Careers.

    • Adults and families will receive personalized guidance on navigating healthcare services, including:

      • Finding and selecting primary care providers and specialists.

      • Understanding preventative care and its importance.

      • Accessing community health resources and free or low-cost clinics.
